August 25, 2006, Newsletter Issue #158: Lowfat Milk

Tip of the Week

1% Lowfat milk is 1% fat.

In each 8 oz. serving there is 100 calories and 2.5 grams of fat. Because some fat is removed, both Vitamins A and D must be added to maintain a level of 2,000 IU of vitamin A and 400 IU of vitamin D per quart

Because of these additions, the label must state that they were added.
