June 4, 2010, Newsletter Issue #277: How Butter is Made

Tip of the Week

Butter is made via the following process:

Fresh, sweet milk is inspected for quality.

The cream is separated from the milk.

The cream is then pasteurized (heated to 161 degrees F for 15 seconds)

This pasteurized cream is then churned until it becomes solid.

Itīs ready to be packaged and go to your store.
